"Sassy, intelligent and thought provoking"
25-Year-old Australian, Sarah Kendall, has everything to look forward to.
Having already established herself as one of Australia's most exciting and popular new comedy talents she has recently relocated to London and is now set to take the UK comedy industry by storm.
Sarah has been widely tipped for big things following the critical success of her solo show Earthling which she performed at the Adelaide and Melbourne Comedy Festivals in 2000.
"This young and talented 24 year old from Sydney takes her audience on a brief and hilarious history of evolution." The Age, Melbourne
TV and radio were quick to recognise Sarah's talents and she regularly wrote for and presented on, Triple J's 'Departure Lounge' and several other prime-time shows on Australian terrestrial stations '9' Network and 'ABCTV'.
In 2001 Sarah produced another fantastic hour of thought provoking comedy in the form of War. After a hugely successful sell-out season at the Melbourne international Comedy Festival, Sarah brought the show to the UK, performing a three-week run at the Edinburgh Festival.
"Thoughtful, intelligent, subtle, enlightening and really funny. Kendall has a dry, subtle British-style sense of humour." The Observer
"An intelligent, thoughtful and wryly amusing exploration of ideas, passionately presented by a young comic willing to set her aim high rather than follow a lazy route to easy laughs." chortle.com
In addition to her solo show at this years Edinburgh, Sarah also starred alongside Phil Nichol and Trevor Lock in Lock and Devillart's hit play What you Really Want at the Pleasance Theatre. Such was the success of the play, with its five star rating, it took to the London stage for an extended run which again received great notices.
"Aussie stand-up Sarah Kendall is in terrific form... a comic play with a great script, top cast, witty dialogue and near perfect staging." Edinburgh Evening News
Sarah certainly has come a long way in a short time since she first began her career in comedy in 1996 at the Sydney Universities annual 'Review' show. As well as her festival shows, Sarah has notched up hilarious sets at the prestigious 'Just For Laughs' Festival in Montreal and at L.A.'s 'Hollywood Improv Club'. A confident and experienced performer for her years, she has played in Singapore, Amsterdam, Ireland and South Africa and already has Berlin and Hong Kong to add to the list during 2002.
