June-October 1999 Cambridge Footlights Tourshow This Way Up - Co-wrote/devised with the other four performers a comedy show for a four month tour playing to 15000 people in total, at twenty different venues. Directed by Cal McCrystal (director of clowns in Cirque de Soleil Las Vegas, Perrier Newcomer show in Edinburgh 1998 The Mighty Boosh, best new comedy in Edinburgh 2000 Stiff). March 1999 Smorgasbord - Comedy role of failing radio DJ in new writing at Cambridge Playroom. December 1998 Sinbad the Sailor - Lead role in Footlights pantomime. June-October 1998 Cambridge Footlights Tourshow Between a Rock and a Hard Place - Co-wrote/devised and performed in a four month comedy touring show. Venues included Swan Theatre Stratford-upon-Avon, Pleasance One Edinburgh, Buxton Opera House, Bath Theatre Royal. "wonderful particular credit given to Richard Thomson" - Cambridge Prompt "Richard made an everlasting impression, in the best way he impressed by his versatility" Scot FM May 1998 Smoker - Wrote and performed comic sketch as Germanic advertiser at ADC Theatre, Cambridge. December 1997 Daahling You Were Marvellous - Lead role as Brick Bergman and cameos in comedic Berkoff play in ADC Theatre, Cambridge.
