Starting his career when he was still in high school - James Dunn has been a familiar face on the South Wales for a while. Now his mum allows him to leave the house like a big boy he is taking his act as far as his knackered car can take him.
Despite his young age, James has already seen and done a lot. Armed with his gapped tooth smile - he will happily recall his tales of his attempts at bumbling through life. From his jobs of serving hipsters sambuccas in a bar to teaching youth offenders how to make films all the way to struggling to buy shoes for his brothers wedding and living with a dog who doesn't respect him. He will even make his audience thought provoking questions such as did the Titanic really sink and how many eggs should you put into making an omelette?
Insecurities, confusion and pointless knowledge wrapped into a checkered shirt and a battered pair of Doc Martin boots.
Has done spots at following:
Has supported Jordan Brookes, Wil Hodgson, Stuart Goldsmith, Bec Hill, Mike Bubbins, Paul McCafftrey and Pete Dobbing on pro bills.
Has done regular MC work.
Winner of the Rawhide Raw (Liverpool, not Bristol) and Vagabond gong shows. Semi Finalist of Welsh Unsigned Stand Up Award.
"James Dunn has a likeable stage presence and a style of delivery so natural that you start to wonder whether you were watching him do comedy and he joined you for a drink or you went for a drink with him and he started doing comedy. A funny, friendly, furry fellow...an engaging performer whose endearing naiveity belies a comedic wisdom beyond his years." - Rob Hughes, Comedian
"Endearingly confused and intermittently wise [with a] bumbling approach to observation" - That Comedy Blog
"Dunn sucks you into a world he barely understands which is quite possibly why it's so funny" - Scott T Fitzgerald, Cardiff Comedy Festival
"James MCs any night as confidently and smoothly as if he is the regular host and reads the venue and audience with an enviable skill. An instantly likeable presence on stage who makes the audience feel like he's welcomed them in to his front room. Quick, witty and always in control. Dunn is one of our 'go to guys' from the independent South Wales circuit for a host at any of our nights" - Clwb Comedy
