Helen da-Silva

After just one year on the scene French-Nigerian Londoner HELEN da-SILVA has quickly emerged as one of the comedy circuit's brightest prospects.

Television appearances on Carlton TV's newcomers showcase The Warehouse and BBC2's friday night The A Force comedy talk show Blouse and Skirt seem set to be the first of many.

A solicitor turned comic, Helen's first 12 months have already seen her take part in 2 national tours,
beginning with SWG: Sisters Wid Gags, an all female comedy showcase, linking top black American comediennes with their British counterparts.

Most recently Helen took part in the I'm Gonna git You Sucka UK tour by top American stand up star John Witherspoon, Eddie Murphy's co-star in films such as Boomerang and Vampire In Brooklyn.

A sassy delivery drives Helen's comedy, which oozes gentle cynicism over subjects currently ranging from middle class African rituals, to cable TV talk shows and the minefield of the 90's dating game.

With a succesful acting debut in Heartbeat Theatre's comedy-drama Unity to place her stand up, the ever improving Ms da-Silva has already hit the stage running at major theatres such as Hackney Empire, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Theatre Royal Stratford East in her first profesional year.
