Dave Skinner

Dave Skinner is a character comedian, comedy actor, and writer and is a regular in Katy Brand's Big Ass Show for ITV2.

He was also a regular in the second series of BBC3's Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive and was in the first series broadcast in 2005. He also played several parts in Clement Doesn't Live Here Anymore (BBCR4).

Dave performed in the Edinburgh Festival with his show, Skinner & Bell: Where Are Dave & Dave? and his previous two Edinburgh shows also played to sell-out audiences. He began performing stand-up on the London comedy circuit in 2002, when he reached the Semi-Finals of So You Think You're Funny. The following year, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Dave appeared in a three-man stand up show, ‘Exploding Head Comedy', and in the ‘Amused Moose Hot Starlets' showcase.  Dave also runs ‘Sit-Down Sundays', a monthly character comedy club designed to showcase the very best in new character comedy; other regular performers have included Adam Buxton and Colin & Fergus. Last year he also appeared in an MTV ident for the cult show Pimp My Ride.

For three years, whilst at university, Dave co-wrote and performed comedy sketches in The Oxford Revue, and also ran and compered his own stand-up comedy club.  Since leaving university, Dave has appeared on TV alongside Steve Coogan, Reeves & Mortimer, Jonathan Ross, and Gina Yashere.  He is also a writer, and has worked for, amongst others, Armando Iannucci, Barry Humphries, Johnny Vegas, Fiona Allen, and Richard & Judy.

Described by Paramount as "a fine master of observational comedy", Dave can still be seen performing his own brand of surreal, intelligent, comedy on the live circuit.
