Christina graduated from Winchester University with a degree in Drama Studies (2005), during which she passed over the stand up comedy module in favour of dramatic acting, and played a troubled lesbian hooker, a role that gained her 1st class honours. Pleased but dissatisfied, she ventured into the world of stand up in June 2008 to see what she’d been missing, and hasn’t looked back.
Her wit, much like a summer’s day in a temperate climate, has been described as ‘dry’ and ‘warm’, and her persona as ‘like watching Alice in Wonderland brandishing a steak knife’. She has spent the last year making audience’s up and down the country giggle in a whirlwind of delight, tattoos and confusion, at venues including but not limited to Komedia Brighton, Downstairs at the Kings Head, Upstairs at the Queens Head and various for Mirth Control.
Christina has been tipped to do well by many on the circuit and is currently enjoying 10 minute spots telling various audiences about body art, her parents’ acts of ‘kindness’ in the face of her early-onset mid life crisis, and her hometown; the Mythical Land of Penge (accessible through the back of your wardrobe, but only if there’s fake Burberry hanging in it).
Christina has also impressed and terrified people whilst studying comedy on the Laughing Horse stand up course (June 2008) and Mirth Control comedy course (April 2009), and is accomplished in acting and comedy improvisation.
‘I strongly urge you go see Christina now, 1) because she is very, very funny & 2) because she may well kill your cat if you don’t.’ – Doug Segal, acclaimed Mindreader and Norwich Comedy Reviewer.
