After gaining a First in English Literature at Oxford University Andrew began developing his writing career and at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2000 he was nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award, for his show 'A MAN OF SUBSTANCE IN A WORLD OF FILTH'.
Since 2000 Andrew has appeared regularly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, each year taking up a brand new show. Including BIRTHDAY PARTY, SUPERCUB and most recently in 2004 MAURICE CLARK: THE STORYMAN, where Andrew creates hilarious stories using audience's suggestions.
Andrew has also appeared regularly on television, appearing in shows such as STORYMAN (Channel 4), MURDER IN MIND (BBC 1) CASUALTY (BBC 1), JONATHAN CREEK (BBC 1), INSPECTOR LINLEY MURDERS (BBC 1), GRASS (BBC 2 & 3) and GIMME, GIMME, GIMME (BBC 2) and most recently BBC LAST LAUGH... (BBC3).
His film credits include JANUARY 2ND (Dir Matt Winn), WOUNDINGS (Dir Roberta Hanley), ANGEL SHARKS (Dir Manual Pradal), TRUE BLUE (Dir Ferdie Fairfax), JOSEPH (Dir Roger Young) and DECADENCE (Dir Steven Berkoff), in which he receives sexual advances from Joan Collins. Andrew has also been involved in the writing of a number of films, including THE CUCKOO, WE'VE COME TO DRUG YOUR CHILDREN and TABLOID TV. His other writing credits include WILDE STORIES (Channel 4) (3 Christmas specials), WITS (BBC Choice) and DONKEY TOWN BEST (Channel 4), which went on to win Best Animation at the Melbourne Animation Festival. Most recently Andrew has written a fantasy novel called Baby Man (Bloomsbury), scripted Heavy Pockets, which has been nominated for Bafta. On radio Andrew has written and performed in two series of STORYMAN on BBC's Radio 4 and has just had a third series commissioned.
Most recently Andrew appeared in a new series for Channel 4's called Balls Of Steel and has been commissioned to write a sit-com Underlings.
Andrew is an extremely versatile writer and has done well at writing naturalistic sit-com, fantasy sit-com, hard-hitting action films, moving bio-pictures, coming-of-age dramas, game shows, panel shows, live comedy, fantasy novels and children's cartoons. He continues to perform regularly on the stand up circuit and is constantly developing new ideas.
