Abi Roberts

Abi Roberts is a stand-up comedian and musical impressionist.

Abi became a full-time professional stand-up comedian on the UK circuit in 2011, after a number of years as a musical cabaret performer.  She has been dubbed by critics as "Robin Williams with tits", "a master impersonator" and as "a young, British Bette Midler". UK Comedy website Chortle described her as "a consummate entertainer".  

Abi is quite literally, a one-off and a comedy whirlwind. She ranges from physical comedy, great stories and audience banter to unique musical impersonations and spot-on impressions, including Celine Dion, Susan Boyle and Sandi Toksvig. 

Abi performs regularly at UK comedy clubs such as Baby Blue Comedy, Liverpool; The Gag FactoryDuke's Headliners, London; Funny Side Comedy Clubs; Canal Cafe Theatre; Hen and Chickens Theatre; Resist The Glamour; Downstairs At the Kings Head; Monkey Business Comedy Clubs; The Comedy Store; Hunters Comedy Club and Chortle FactoryBury; LoveComedyvenues and Mirth Control Comedy Clubs.  She has also compered for Funny Women nights at the Leicester Square Theatre and at Boom-Tish, in London's Crouch End. She is also resident compere at Jimmy's Farm Comedy in Suffolk. 

Abi was a semi-finalist in the 2009 Funny Women competition, a Finalist in the Comedy Store's Costa Light competition in 2011 and she is a previous winner of the Bristol Old Vic's prestigiousPeter Ackermann Comedy Award.

About Abi
Abi started her comedy career in productions such as the topical sketch show, NewsRevue, in the comedy trio About as Funny As It Gets and a radio show Nice Mischief (with James Dreyfus ofGimme Gimme Gimme).  Abi was also in the double act, Roberts & Roper (with Wilfredo Erecto! creator and long-time friend, Matt Roper).
Early in 2008, she filmed the BBC pilot, Sounds Like a Laugh, with Rhys Darby, who stars as band manager Murray Hewitt in Flight of the Conchords (HBO) and later that year she starred in The Vagina Monologues tour across the UK.
